Chashaku are appreciated for their beauty as well as their function, and special ones are bestowed with poetic names ('gomei') to give it a seasonal identity. In Japanese tea ceremony study, utensils are seasonal; some may make an appearance only once a year.
Use two scoops of matcha tea for 2oz of water (about 2g); the scoop should be rounded, and reaching just the point where the chashaku starts to bend.
